i worked with a team of 5 in an autonomous surface vehicle design competition.

the asv module (capsule) was provided, so the challenge was hull design and construction while staying within the $100 budget.

i prototyped some designs in solidworks, but they later got scrapped as the printing fee for the challenge was adjusted and allowed for more material usage.

i leveraged my experience in manufacturing to verify the team's final hull design and recommend changes for 3d printability. this included fixing nearly non-manifold geometry (hole in the hull), adjusting mounts for ease of assembly, and optimizing print orientation. this prevented around 8 hours of failed print time.

i also researched low cost sealants, wrote bits of the design proposal, documented our developments through photo/video, and helped with post-processing, painting, and assembly.

our team tied for first place in the vessel maneuverability category and won first place for video production of design progress.
